Starting Aug 30, 2021, CJHS will offer a Hockey Skills Academy to interested athletes every afternoon in place of regular CJHS PE and option programming Monday-Thursday. Participation in the academy will require passing grades in classes. School administration will set academic goals individually with families and athletes. Full equipment is required.

Program Components

Hockey Skills Academy participants will participate daily in on-ice/physical education components and classroom dry land instruction. Classroom topics covered in the program include sport psychology, leadership skills, character education, cooking skills, nutrition, community relations, volunteerism, team play, healthy habits, and more. In addition to on-ice hockey time, the PE element of the program will include lacrosse, basketball, street hockey, baseball, ultimate frisbee, soccer and flag football.

Each athlete will get access to a nutrition coordinator Jill (Nunn) Perkins and Physical Fitness Instructor Morgan Boyes.
